Therapy: Any act, hobby, task, program, etc… that relieves tension!
Sometimes we come to a point in our lives where we get interested in how our health is related to how we feel, how we think, even what we believe in. There are methods of relieving tension, or exploring the tension, so that the wisdom from that tension is revealed. I am honored to offer the following five methods as possibilities to aid you in your self exploration... (Please see descriptions and appointment availability below)

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
Anything can happen in a Phoenix Rising session! These unique sessions allow you to explore all that is happening for you in the moment, using the body and its messages as a tool for staying present to the moment. Being witnessed in your process as you uncover patterns, memories and ways of being that influence your state of health, can offer you support in learning how to navigate through your own cycles of transformation. A traditional PR session uses different postures and stretches to encourage edge in your experience; the recognition of a place that is not entirely comfortable to be in but one where you choose to explore in. The style of dialoguing may also be used in massage sessions. Please let me know if you would like to experience verbal techniques while receiving massage. 75 minutes
Relaxation Massage
Soft, gentle gliding touch, combining soft music, warmth and aromatherapy to help ease you into a state of rest. For most of us, our accumulated life experience has taught us to stay alert, tensed up, ready for action or withdrawal. With our nervous system at this level of unrest, our bodies can’t help but express the effects; heart rate is usually elevated, muscles carry tensions, thoughts move quickly, poor digestion etc…. Sometimes all we need is to just learn how to relax. These sessions support you in relaxing by physically creating a space that is safe, warm and open while offering you ways of taking some of the tools home to use in your own space. 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes.
Deep Tissue Massage
Slow, deep focused touch is used to help encourage freedom in your connective tissue and in your muscles. We work together, sometimes verbally other times subtlety, to mindfully explore where tension lives in your body. This work could help you become aware of how habitual thoughts become habitual patterns in your posture, and of how posture can affect overall health in the body. This form of massage encourages deep muscular and connective tissue release, while offering you tools to take home with you to help continue to keep your body free. Often suggestions of stretches or other forms of movement will be given that would serve to deepen your experience of release. 45, 60, 75 0r 90 minutes.
Client Centered Thematic Exploration (CCTE)
The first stage of transformation is recognizing that you want to make a change in some aspect of your life. Awareness is being born. The time together in CCTE serves you while exploring your process of transformation by facilitating ways of learning how to listen to yourself for the guidance that will bring you through the complete cycle. The facilitation is offered through a body-centered approach; understanding oneself from the experiences of and wisdom within the body. Often books, articles, poems, personal growth activities (ie. journaling, self-mentoring, creative expression…), meditations, yoga postures and lessons in yogic philosophy will be offered to facilitate a deeper unfolding of what you are exploring. These sessions can also be effectively done through phone conversation, opening up many possibilities for continued long distant learning. 60 minutes
Private Yoga Sessions
We can spend the time how you would like: looking at alignment of postures, working with Nyasa (uniting movement with breath), strengthening the core through bandha work, or this time could be used for exploring yoga philosophy in a bit more depth, looking at what we have to learn from the theory behind our practice. 60, 75 or 90 minutes
BioMat Healing Sessions
Relax on a bed of amethyst crystals as they naturally heat and detoxify your body with far infrared light waves. These warming, soothing and healing light waves lull you into a deep state of relaxation as they work internally to cleanse your body of free radicals by giving off negative ions...a similar effect to being in a sauna by a waterfall! Each session is 30 minutes long and includes time on the mat as well as a choice between polarity and cranial holds or hand and foot massage. This is suited for anyone and shows the most obvious effects with those suffering from acute or chronic illness or injury or pain. For others, it provides a profound subtle state of parasympathetic nervous system activity ( or RELAXATION!) which promotes continual vitality in your body.
"You will melt into the experience of deep natural healing and emerge renewed." ~Shiva Rea
