Asana and Workshop Descriptions

Slow Flow Yoga:

This class is designed to help you find and develop your unique breathing and movement patterns. Vinyasa means to combine breath with movement and this class slows down enough for us to really explore the strength, the balance and the softness that can happen in the perfect union of vinyasa. This class also begins to explore how we can move with the lessons we learn on our mats, off the mat and out into our lives.  Wednesdays, 730-830am @ Cattitude

Solar Flow Yoga:

The intention of this class is to utilize the amazing effects of twisting and revolved postures on cleansing the body's internal systems. Sequenced in a freestyle vinyasa flow, the body's temperature will rise and physically aide in a release of toxins. The moving meditation and challenging sequences offer the practitioner the opportunity to work with the obstacles posed to us by our minds. This is a fun, high energy class that offers the practitioner with a regular practice a way to deepen their experience of yoga with advanced postures, pranayamas and meditations.  Please have a regular practice to attend.  Fridays, 9-1030am @ Cattitude

Hatha Flow Yoga:

This 60 minute class has the intention of opening our hearts and minds to the amazing realizations of Self. A great introduction to vinyasa flow yoga, this class is sequenced to inspire and awaken the practitioner's inner strength. Meditations in the class offer ways to apply the knowledge we gain on our mats, off, into our daily lives. Vinyasa yoga concentrates its efforts on the beautiful unity of breath and movement, connecting all of yoga's postures with grace and flow. This is a more active movement form of yoga and while alignment and safe foundations are always where we begin, we surrender into the meditation of movement. Any level welcome.  Sundays, 930-1030am @ Cattitude

**There is an optional 30 minute sitting meditation after class

Hindu Storytelling and Discussion

TBA

Stories...for as long as we have been human, there have been stories. How else can we relate our inner experience of dreams, imaginations, and visions but through metaphor and story? Join me for 2 hours of readings and discussions about the familar gods you hear and see in the Yogic tradition. Bring the whole family, and listen to tales of Hanuman the monkey lord, Ganaesh the boy/elephant and many more! Popcorn and tea will be provided as a snack.  This event is free, with donations gladly accepted.

Free Preview of Lunar Flow!

Friday, June 26, 2008

5:30-6:30pm

Free!

Join Heather and myself on Friday, June 26th from 5:30-6:30pm for a free introduction to Lunar Flow.  This is vinyasa like you've never experienced!  In comparison to Solar Flow, which is dynamic and opening, Lunar Flow asks us as students to move deeper into reflection as we hold poses for longer and allow or emphasis to be on moving meditation rather than on building strength.  This class will begin the second Friday in July as a reguarly scheduled class in this time slot.
